Our Regulatory Standards
CPNP Notified
Every Icelandic Elements product is notified on the EU Cosmetic Products Notification Portal (CPNP) under EU Cosmetics Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009, before being placed on the market.
Product Information File
Each product is supported by a complete Product Information File (PIF) — a comprehensive dossier containing the product description, formulation, safety report, manufacturing method, and all regulatory documentation, maintained and available to EU authorities upon request.
Cosmetic Product Safety Report
Every product has been assessed by a qualified cosmetic safety assessor and is supported by a full Cosmetic Product Safety Report (CPSR) — the independent scientific safety assessment required by EU law before any cosmetic can be placed on the market.
Challenge & Stability Tested
Our formulations have undergone challenge testing to verify microbiological safety, and extended stability testing to confirm that products remain safe and effective throughout their stated shelf life under normal storage conditions.
Patch Tested
Products have undergone dermatological patch testing to assess skin tolerance and suitability. Results are held within the Product Information File and are available to competent authorities.
GMP Manufactured
All Icelandic Elements products are manufactured in compliance with ISO 22716 — the international standard for Cosmetics Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). Our Italian manufacturing partner operates to GMP standards throughout production.
Our Commitment to EU Cosmetic Compliance
Icelandic Elements products are not simply CBD products with a label. Every product in our range has been developed, assessed, and notified in accordance with EU Cosmetics Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 — the most comprehensive cosmetic safety framework in the world.
This means that before any product reached you, it was independently assessed for safety by a qualified toxicologist, formulated and manufactured under Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) conditions, challenge tested for microbiological stability, patch tested for dermatological tolerance, and notified to the EU Cosmetic Products Notification Portal (CPNP) with a complete Product Information File submitted to our EU Responsible Person.
We hold this standard not because we have to — but because the people who use our products deserve nothing less.
